Worthwhile trip if you like nature and the sea. The boat takes you up close to the Perc Rock and the Bonaventure island. The guide explains in English and French. Went there in July and weather was wonderful. You can get off on the island and wait for the next boat.
Its a shame that theres an dishonest collector boy of the parking at such beautiful place. And we found we are not the only one who encountered same thing. The boy told us that we had to pay 5 dollars for parking even if we would buy boat tickets after breakfast, but we can get it back when we buy boat tickets. After, we got nothing back even if I showed the parking ticket to the sales lady and the boy. They just told us that you can keep it. I never encountered such thing in Canada before.
Definitely a worthwhile trip for the whole family. The basic tour is done in French and English and lasts about 1.5 hours. We saw both sides of the Richer Perc ans went around Bonaventure island. Since we took the last tour (4 p.m.) we didn't get to go for the extra island walking tour. The kids were too tired anyways. The bird sanctuary was impressive and we got to see grey seals, minsk whales and humpback whales. What a treat! Highly recommended but bring your sea legs as it can get a bit rough.
This review is for the whale watching cruise not for the island trip.In a word, the experience was terrible, we saw very little and half of the passengers got sea sick. The crew could not care less about anything, they were not available for questions or concerns. Worse $80 spent ever. Not worth it.Also there are two companies that sell tickets for these trips, but in gact there is one operator so I will post this review to the other company as well
i bought ticket 35$ to go from perc to le bonaventure and to go hiking there , but when i got there they told me i bought only a ride ticket on boat.. i had to pay 20$ more for hiking i was devastated
